Listening
The listening section of the PTE exam assesses your ability to listen and understand spoken English, as well as your ability to follow directions. The questions are designed to measure how well you can understand spoken English and respond appropriately in a variety of real-life situations. There are 8 tasks which include a lot of integrated tasks [just like the other PTE modules – which you would have surely realized by now]. The tasks are:
- Summarize Spoken Text
- Multiple Choice, Choose
- Multiple Answers
- Listening Blanks
- Highlight Correct Summary
- Multiple Choice, Choose Single Answer
- Select Missing Word
- Highlight Incorrect Words
- Write From Dictation
- Total number of questions are generally around 15-22, and the total time spent on the entire Listening test would be around 50-60 minutes.
Since the Listening section is the last module in the test, it requires utmost concentration and a relaxed state of mind.
